Better Luck In The Mornin'

Morning
So, we got up and put the GoSun Grill out in the sun around 9 to see how it would do pre-heating.  We feel a ton better.  It took about 45 minutes to pre-heat to #3, then another 15 minutes to get up to #4...I feel better because my husband was very critical about the GoSun last night and how slow everything was.

NOTE: When writing about GoSun recipes...please indicate which version you are using...the Go, the Sport or the Grill.  I am sharing pre-heat time, temperatures and time cooking because I am just getting used to it.

We tried scrambled eggs in silicone muffin cups, reheating some of the potatoes from last night, and cooking some Italian sausage links whole ( rather than sliced ).

Started cooking when at #3, checked the bunch after 30 minutes...not much change in temperature but steaming and cooking.

So, the eggs in silicone muffin cups ( jumbo cups - see below ) turned out great...they took about an hour...but we had filled the cooking chamber up so everything cooked slower.

The reheated potatoes were done much faster as they floated in the steam tray above.
The sausages took the longest- about 90 minutes, but cooked much faster after we took out the eggs and potatoes.

So, in the case of the GoSun Grill...less really is more...as far as speed in cooking.

Afternoon
I had a box of spice cake mix in the cupboard, so I mixed it up and poured it into six silicone muffin cups.  I did not use the metal cooking trays this time; I just placed to silicone cups directly on the slide-in tray.

I could only fit five in, so I went with those first...they took about 90 minutes and did not puff up much because of the slow cooking.  I put the 6th one in by itself and it cooked super speedily, puffing up as expected after only 20 minutes or so.

They taste fine!  My daughter added frosting so they taste even better!

While the final cake cooked, I finished prepping some more small gold potatoes.  This time I am sliced into thin ovals - almost scalloped potato-style.  I am mixed them with olive oil and seasoning.

I decided to make my own foil tray for the potatoes to see if that would allow the heat to focus on the potatoes rather than heating the metal cooking tray.  I laid the foil directly on the slide in tray and see how that goes!
